Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18)
I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
The Authority to Disciple and Teach Others
With this simple lesson of Christology that we have studied in this blog we can rightly conclude we have all we need to accomplish the command of the Great Commission, especially for our discussing the commands of making disciples and teaching. As we approach the command of the Great Commission to disciple and teach others we recognize the authority has been given to the Church by Jesus Christ, who has all authority. There should be no doubt as to both the imperative and the power behind the imperative. The authority of God the Father, by Jesus Christ, will be carried out by the Holy Spirit in our ministry on earth for the Kingdom Revolution. We have been given the support of the prayers of Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. As holders of the office of priests and kings we have an obligation to fulfill the offices. As slaves of God we have no choice in the matter. It should be a settled conclusion: we can do what we are commanded to do: make disciples and to teach.
