“God’s work is hindered by our interference.”  Andrew Murray

“The great secret of abiding in Christ is the deep conviction that we are nothing, and He is everything.”  Andrew Murray

The enemy of discipleship and serving God is the self.  Self-glorification and self-pleasure are the world’s entrapments and the Christian often find himself ensnared.  Doing anything in the power of self rather than the power of God will not be profitable for anybody.  We must learn to yield to the power of the Holy Spirit.  It is not easy, but it is simple.  Meditate upon the following passages

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”  (2 Corinthians 4:7)

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.  (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  (Mathew 16:24)

Who is wise and understanding among you?  Let his show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.  But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.  This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.  For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.  Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.  (James 3:13-18)
